Biography

With three books and hundreds of journal articles to his credit, writer Rob Vollmar joined the USAO Communications and Marketing Office in October 2010 as staff writer. Besides working with words, his favorite other pursuit is music.

As a comics scholar and historian, Rob has given countless presentations in libraries and public schools all over Oklahoma and considers public education to be one of a writer’s most important social obligations.

In addition to his career as a writer, Rob has worked as a professional musician and has played most styles of music in venues all over the state. His other interests include classical history and ethnomusicology. His latest passion is the oud, a fretless, stringed instrument played throughout the Mediterranean, Middle East and North Africa.
